Seatown to Sactown

And we're off!

Of course we leave Seattle when it's 70 degrees and nothing but sun! Ahhh, the Warner luck! We had a great flight down to Sacramento, nothing but blue skies the whole way. Fortunately for James, there wasn't much turbulance! We had some great views of Mt Saint Helens and Crater Lake. We got in to Sacramento at noon and the weather was a wonderful 74 degrees. It's so nice to finally be in summer weather!

Spaulding luck finally took over and we ended up with a great rental car--a Nissan Altima that rides smooth and is very comfy, fully equipped with a push button start, that only took us two hours to figure out.

It's been fun for James to be in nostalgia remembering his 3 years living in Sactown. We met up with his two close friends, Brad and JD for lunch. Megs has been getting the good dish and funny stories on James' quirks that she didn't know about. We're staying with James' friends Brad and Kim who are wonderful hosts!

After an hour nap this afternoon (that two-hour flight can be killer!) we went to James' friend Sarah's family's house for a BBQ. Nothing like BBQ chicken, potato salad, fruit salad and pie to hit the spot! We are officially on vacation now and lovin it! James also got to drive his old Audi A4 that he sold to Sarah's parents before moving away. Megs saw her life flash before her eyes as James raced through the neighborhoods of Sacramento--the car corners like it's on rails! Good thing James is a good driver.

Now it's time for bed. California dreamin' here we come. More updates tomorrow...

I don't get why the Californians don't understand your skin color. It's only 20° warmer there than here.

Meg & James, nice work on the blog. It was so much fun to hangout with both of you this past weekend. BTW, thanks again for picking Rach & I up from the walk of shame at 2 AM. Something just never change. love it!
